Life Lately

I can hardly believe that it is already October- much less more than half way through it! This Summer seemed to have just flown right by, and now we are zooming right into and through the Fall months, my favorite! I love so many things about Fall – football, family time, Fall fashion, lots of photo sessions, hunting season and time at the camp, pumpkin spice (yes, I said it! I love it!), cooler weather (if we’re lucky), and so much more! It is definitely the start of my busy season, and I’m loving every second of that as well. Its amazing that so many families and repeat clients choose this beautiful Fall time for me to update their photos.

Through My Lens

Before I completely shift gears to sharing Fall sessions, I have to take a moment to appreciate some of my favorite photo sessions that I did over the Summer. During the Summer, I had the pleasure of photographing lots of different things: local events, branding sessions, a few milestones, but photographing a BIRTH definitely topped the charts!

Tips From Your Photographer

They keys to having beautiful Fall photos, or really any great photos, are color, location, and light. When it comes to styling the session and choosing colors for outfits, you’ll want to focus on warm earth tones, and jewel tones. These colors, combined with a natural outdoor backdrop and some golden Fall light is sure to be stunning!

What I’m loving

Aside form the fact that I am obsessed with coffee, I am absolutely a coffee shop girl. One of my favorite places to get my computer work done is at my favorite coffee shops. My absolute favorite coffee shop in the area was Johnston Street Java, but sadly it closed in August. JSJ was super special to me. It served as a study spot while I was in college that would eventually lead me to earning my degree in photography, and then it served as a meeting place for me and my clients, as well a great place to edit and continue to build my business. It was totally bittersweet seeing it go, but I am incredibly happy for the previous owners as they enter retirement. I also am anticipating the transition, and very much looking forward to having a Jet coffee so close by!

Since the closure of JSJ, I have been forced to venture out to other coffee shops in the area, and have really fallen in love with a few new (to me) spots! Coffee Dash, La Creperie, and Reve River Ranch are just a few!
